1900/65a-01-01-01-01-01 The better the processor can handle the performance requirements of AI

1900/65a-01-01-01-01-01 Arm’s DNA was born for devices that use batteries. Haas believes that this is why major cloud service providers such as Amazon Cloud Technologies (AWS), Google (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT) are increasingly adopting Arm architectures. He also talked about how Arm is the most energy efficient CPU in the world, and the energy savings are driving amazing AI innovation.

Software is crucial

For more than 30 years, Arm is best known for its leading energy efficiency, which has made it the most widely used computing platform in the world. Not only that, Haas further pointed out that what really sets Arm apart is the unparalleled software ecosystem.

As Haas said, Arm has become the operating system of choice for every major operating system in the world. Microsoft’s recently released AI PC is a good example, where the most commonly used applications now run natively on Windows on Arm (WoA). In fact, out of an ecosystem of 18 million software developers, more developers today design on Arm cpus than on any other processor.

If we want to experience the social change AI can unleash, from the tiniest devices on the edge to training and reasoning in the cloud, developer support is critical. Developers need to be able to innovate with AI and have it run on hardware in a high-performance, power-optimized, highly executable and predictable state.1900/65a-01-01-01-01-01

To ensure this happens on the Arm computing platform, Haas introduced the newly launched Arm KleidiAI, which is included in a new set of AI computing libraries that make it easier for developers to run their AI applications on the Arm platform. “What we’ve really learned over the past 30 + years at Arm is that giving developers access to resources is just as important as the hardware, otherwise the hardware wouldn’t work,” Haas added.

For example, when developers work on their models in frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Llama 3, and MediaPipe, KleidiAI enables them to tap into the abstraction layer and leverage the underlying hardware capabilities of AI workloads to reach their full performance potential.

KleidiAI also has an advantage from an ecosystem perspective, with Haas sharing videos from Samsung, Meta, and Google executives who each talked about how Arm and KleidiAI will help them accelerate AI innovation on the Arm platform across multiple markets.

Arm Terminal CSS

In addition to the great work being done by the Arm enabling AI developer ecosystem, Arm will continue to1900/65a-01-01-01-01-01 deliver higher performance, more energy efficient products. Chris Bergey, senior vice president and general manager of Arm’s Devices Division, was on hand to share more information on the product side, introducing the Arm Terminal Computing Subsystem (CSS), which was announced last week.
