330180-90-00 Release of AI tools to help hydrogen plants streamline design, engineering and automation processes
At Achema 2024, several new products for the hydrogen industry were unveiled at the Siemens stand
At the Ahmar fair in Frankfurt, Siemens unveiled new software tools for the green hydrogen industry to enable companies in the hydrogen industry to increase hydrogen production through the application of generative artificial intelligence technology. These solutions are designed to help companies dramatically simplify the design, engineering and automation of hydrogen plants, thereby accelerating the process of hydrogen production at scale.
SiePA Xssistant infuses AI assistants with industrial capabilities
SiePA is a comprehensive industrial artificial intelligence AI predictive analytics tool from Siemens. During the show, Siemens presented the latest update to SiePA – SiePA Xssistant, an intelligent operating assistant in the form of a conversation robot. The core of its technology is an AI agent based on a large la330180-90-00 nguage model, capable of receiving tasks in the form of dialogue and completing the corresponding tasks autonomously with no or limited human intervention.
Unlike traditional large language models, SiePA Xssistant fully integrates industry knowledge into the model, greatly improving the accuracy and professionalism of the answers provided by AI, and truly making the information or solutions provided reliable and actionable. At the same time, Xssistant is closely integrated with SiePA system’s model training, status query, common problem analysis, equipment fault diagnosis and other functions, so that users can achieve more intelligent and efficient plant equipment operation management through convenient and intuitive dialogue operation on the basis of traditional industrial software. Through the rational use of AI agents based on large language models, more and more existing functions can be integrated into SiePA Xssistant, which can be intelligently invoked according to demand, laying the foundation for a broader application prospect in the future.
A Hydrogen Plant Configurator was used to speed up the design
Hydrogen Plant Configurator is the latest intelligent chatbot from Siemens based on generative artificial intelligence technology to help users with the design of hydrogen production plants. The artificial intelligence software is able to create module flow charts based on the specific design requirements required for the production equipment, accurately presenting the layout of the system units and various connections. In addition, AI can predict a number of key factory data, such as power consumption, heat output and important component details. This data e330180-90-00 nables the user to understand the basic conditions of the plant, which can also be transferred to engineering and simulation software such as Siemens COMOS and gPROMS to automatically create pipe and instrument diagrams.
“Green hydrogen is essential for industrial decarbonisation. In the foreseeable future, there is a broad market demand for green hydrogen and there is an urgent need to increase production.” Axel Lorenz, CEO of Siemens Process Automation, said: “Generative AI can provide support during the critical stages of hydrogen production, resulting in significant time and cost savings. With Hydrogen Plant Configurator, it has never been easier to plan and operate a more sustainable hydrogen production plant, enabling more efficient production.”
Accelerate engineering design with COMOS AI
Siemens has also introduced an AI tool for the project planning phase of hydrogen plants: COMOS AI Engineering Assistant. This AI tool can create device specifications and diagrams based on natural language descriptions, and automatically complete or correct models and drawings. During cross-domain phases of engineering or cross-product workflows, the assistant can also support simulation software such as Simit from Siemens by transforming models, drawings and information structures. In addition, users can retrieve information from engineered products using COMOS AI, which is able to provide answers about documentation, specifications or technical details. By inputting images, scans or PDF files, it can also proactively provide relevant resources and turn them into accurate charts and models.
