Function description
The 3500/20 is a rack interface module designed and developed by Bently Nevada. The main interface of the 3500 rack is the Rack Interface Module (RIM). It supports proprietary protocols for configuring racks and retrieving mechanical data. RIM must be placed in rack slot 1. (Next to the power supply). RIM supports compatible Bentley Nevada external communications processors such as TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX. While RIM performs some functions that are shared by the entire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path and has no impact on the normal operation of the overall monitoring system. Each rack requires a RIM.

TMR Version for Triple Modular Redundancy: For applications that require the highest level of redundancy and reliability, RIM offers the TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) version. This professional iteration of RIM goes beyond standard functionality by enabling monitor channel comparisons. The TMR RIM continuously compares the output of three redundant monitors, ensuring that discrepancies beyond predefined thresholds are flagged so that corrective action can be taken immediately.
Enhanced TMR configuration: TMR RIM’s Monitor channel comparison feature enhances the power of your system’s TMR configuration. This monitoring approach provides an additional layer of integrity by detecting changes in the redundant monitoring output. When TMR RIM identifies inconsistencies, it logs the event, enabling it to quickly identify potential issues and maintain system reliability.
