A06B-6114-H106 The platform increases enterprise productivity and flexibility through faster, more precise, and more autonomous automation technologies.
A strategic investment of $170 million in a new generation of robot control platforms is designed to accelerate the goal of more advanced and sustainable automation.
A unique single control architecture integrates the full suite of hardware and software for ABB robots.
ABB Robotics today officially launched OmniCore™, a faster, more accurate and sustainable intelligent automation platform designed to empower businesses for the future.
The OmniCore™ platform is the result of ABB’s more than $170 million investment in next-generation robotics and marks a significant shift towards modularity and future control architectures. The architecture will enable the full integration of AI, sensors, cloud and edge computing systems to create state-of-the-art and autonomous robotics applications.
Simon An, president of ABB’s Robotics and Discrete Automation division,
Automation is a strategic imperative for our customers as they seek greater flexibility, ease of operation and efficiency to meet the challenges of global megatrems such as Labour shortages, market instability and more sustainable operations.
By developing advanced mechatronics, artificial intelligence and vision systems, our robots are easier to use, better performing, and more flexible and maneuverable than ever before. But they also have to work with each other and work seamlessly with us, taking on more tasks in more places. That’s why we’re launching OmA06B-6114-H106 niCore™, a new milestone in our 50-year history in robotics. A unique single control architecture that integrates our full suite of leading hardware and software through one platform and one language.
OmniCore™ ‘s best-in-class motion performance enables the robot to achieve path accuracy to within 0.6 mm and can operate at high speeds of up to 1,600 mm per second while controlling multiple robots. This opens up new automation opportunities in precision areas such as arc welding, mobile display assembly, gluing and laser cutting. Overall, OmniCore™ enables robots to operate 25% faster and consume 20% less energy than previous ABB controllers.
Built on a scalable modular control architecture, OmniCore™ offers a wealth of capabilities to create almost any conceivable application that meets the needs of companies introducing automation technologies in existing and new market segments, such as biotechnology and construction companies. With more than 1,000 hardware and software features, customers can easily design, operate, maintain and optimize their operations. This includes ABB’s Absolute Accuracy and PickMaster®Twin software, as well as hardware ranging from external axes and vision systems to A06B-6114-H106 fieldbuses.
