Innovative industrial control network architecture

Jiang Ming said that based on years of practice, China Telecom has proposed a new industrial control network integration innovation architecture based on industrial PON for the first time for the upgrading and evolution of industrial manufacturing networks, and built a deterministic link capability, intelligent management capability, computing and network integration capability, and high availability network security capability to meet the new trend of intelligent and digital development of industrial sites.

According to reports, the entire network architecture is characterized by autonomy and control, open and universal, with the following six key technologies.

Key technology 1: universal, standardized network protocols and technologies. Industrial PON aF3XD64-3F dheres to the ITU-T standard PON protocol to realize industrial ecological reuse and meet key requirements such as large bandwidth, low delay and high reliability. PON network slicing technology supports the diversified and converged bearing of multiple services in industrial scenarios, improving the adaptation capability of industrial control scenarios.

Key technology 2: High availability network assurance. In addition to the PON network’s own optical link protection protocol, there are multiple types of protection forms such as dual OLT handhold Type D, which match the protection configuration of industrial networks, can achieve on-demand redundancy networking, system reliability up to 99.999%, and provide highly reliable data transmission for industrial production networks.

Key technology 3: Industrial PON safety technology. Through the construction of a “four-fold protection of the whole life cycle” security system, the goal of “defense in depth” of network equipment, “controllable and available” of industrial networks, “impregnable” of sensitive data, and “knowable and perceptible” of security events is achieved.

Key Technology 4: Intention-driven industrial PON deterministic capability. The deterministic technology system of industrial PON system proposed by China Telecom provides guarantee for control deterministic services in industrial field networks and “reaches the international advanced level”. At the same time, it realizes the demand perception of industrial control business flow and the deterministic scheduling of global PON network automation for industrial control business needs.

Key technology 5: intelligent management ability. Based on SDN and distributed acquisition technology, standardized model abstraction for PON devices and business logic is carried out to meet customers’ intelligent operation and maintenance requirements, realize rapid deployment and orchestration of new services, and support sub-second situational awareness and real-time panoramic view of PON network.

Key technology 6: high performance computer network control integration. Industrial PON network iF3XD64-3F ntegrates computing power to solve the problem of edge side computing and network isolation, and covers edge application scenarios through computing power expansion, enhances the integration of control and network, and easily realizes cross-level data exchange and application collaboration.

Jiang Ming introduced that based on the research and development of key technologies, China Telecom has developed some core capabilities. For example, the industrial PON self-service platform provides computing, network, and control integrated management and control self-service entry and scheduling capabilities of deterministic transmission, achieving end-to-end network management and control, multi-form computing power management, and integrated deployment of industrial applications.

Another example is the industrial PON edge device CT100 built on the terminal side, which integrates the capabilities of network, industrial gateway and computing power, and has data acquisition and some industrial control capabilities. Through the integration of intelligent decision-making system and industrial PON edge equipment, it can better meet the needs of industrial control.

In Jiang Ming’s view, the current industrial PON technology continues to mature and improve, can well become a new industrial “double gigabit” network base, will become the core scheme of industry private network connection. In addition to the industrial scene, in education, medical care, parks, cultural tourism, energy and other vertical fields, China Telecom is also carrying out large-scale promotion.

It is understood that China Telecom has carried out many practices based on industrial PON. For example, PON+5G customized network is used as network infrastructure to create a double gigabit smart factory information base, carrying several production lines; Industrial PON edge equipment is used to transform the factory network and improve the industrial data collection capacity. The practice of deterministic capacity to carry industrial control business, the effect is remarkable. At present, the industrial control network integrated with computer and network control is being explored in the laboratory simulation environment.
