PH1013-2840 Help develop robots and smart iot devices

PH1013-2840 The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a mega-urban agglomeration with a total population of more than 86 million and a GDP of about US $1.8 trillion in 2021. It is a very dynamic and robust science and innovation center in China. In order to fully tap the potential of digitalization, decarbonization and electrification, local tech innovation companies have been working to develop more practical and powerful technology solutions, but often face more complex challenges in engineering design and supply chain. As a global technology solutions provider, Arrow provides best-in-class engineering, supply chain expertise and global ecosystem support to empower innovators and entrepreneurs to overcome technology and supply chain challenges and bring their innovative ideas to market faster.

Empower innovators

In 2016, Arrow Electronics established its first Open Lab in Hong Kong Science Park. Since then, the lab has become a center of excellence for hundreds of local engineers and makers, helping them solve engineering problems and accelerate the process from idea to prototype to production. In order to provide broader support, Arrow Electronics has also chosen to launch a new open laboratory at the XbotPark Robotics base in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, an industrial city in the Greater Bay Area.

Professor Zexiang Li, founder of XbotPark Robotics Base, said :”XbotPark is a global sPH1013-2840 tart-up incubator focused on robotics and smart hardware, dedicated to providing startups with the necessary mentoring, ecosystem support, access to capital and technical resources to grow and succeed. We are excited to partner with Arrow Electronics to empower high-potential tech companies in Dongguan and throughout the Greater Bay Area.” Arrow Electronics provides strong technical support, ranging from microelectronics and sensors to connectivity and edge platforms, as well as design engineering expertise and supply chain services. For startups and innovators, these resources and technological capabilities are key to maximizing their business potential.”

Training robot technology talents

According to the “China Robot Industry Development Report” 2, the value of China’s robot market will reach 17.4 billion US dollars in 2022, with a five-year annual growth rate of 22%. Among them, the industrial robot market is worth $8.7 billion, the service robot market is worth $6.5 billion, and the professional service robot market is worth $2.2 billion.

Benmo Technology is a company located in Dongguan, committed to providing direct drive precision power solutions without reducers, this exhibition showed its self-developed and self-produced wheel foot robot. As a graduate of XbotPark Incubation Project, the products of Benmu Technology mainly serve the domestic robot, industrial/commercial robot, fitness industry and other fields, providing customers with a complete set of solutions from demand customization, program design, commissioning and maintenance. Zhenhua Yin, Director of Robotics at Benmo Technology, PH1013-2840 said: “Arrow Electronics, as a global technology company, provides us with the ecosystem resources to help our robot drive systems and efficient power solutions reach a broader market and fully realize our growth potential.”

Since 2021, Arrow Electronics has launched a joint incubation training programme with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, and so far Arrow’s engineering team has provided free robotics and artificial intelligence technology training to more than 400 engineers who have participated in the programme. Benmu’s wheeled robot has become one of the open platform tools for the training program.

Hengzhifuture, a consumer robot developer and incubator of the XbotPark incubation project, brought the latest consumer pet robots to the exhibition, showing the attendees more possibilities for the development of intelligent robots.

Peiheng Song, founder and CTO of Hengzhi Future, said: “As we continue to strengthen our robotics product offering and scale our business, we look forward to gaining access to Ari’s comprehensive portfolio of advanced electronic components, design engineering resources and go-to-market support.”

As the first electronic hardware laboratory in XbotPark, Arrow Electronics Open Lab covers a total area of 1,200 square meters, with engineering equipment, test modules and open collaboration areas to effectively help local and international innovation companies design, develop and test their products and solutions.

“In today’s competitive and fast-moving market environment, cross-disciplinary cooperation and technology integration are key to promoting continued innovation and sustainable development,” said Victor Chiang, President, Components Business, Arrow Electronics Asia Pacific. From competing research and product development needs to constantly iterating product features to the ever-changing supply chain environment, technology companies and startups have always faced a variety of challenges. “As a trusted technology partner, we can guide and help them realize their ideas by providing a global network of resources, industry insight and market influence to turn their imagination into creative new products.”
