133396-01 is an overspeed detection I/O module developed by Bently Nevada. It is part of the Bentley Nevada 3500/53 electronic Speed Detection System.

The Bentley Nevada Electronic Overspeed Detection System for the 3500 Series Mechanical inspection system is a highly reliable,

fast responding redundant tachometer system designed to be used as part of the overspeed safety system.

It is designed to meet the overspeed protection requirements of American Petroleum Institute (API) standards 670 and 612.

Modules can be coupled to produce a 2/3 or 2/3 voting system (preferred).

The overspeed detection system requires 3500 racks with multiple power supplies.

Input signal specification:
Each overspeed detection module accepts a single sensor signal from the proximity probe sensor or magnetic picker.

The voltage range of the input signal is + 10.0V to -24.0V, and signals beyond this range are restricted internally by the module.

OK LED: indicates that the 3500/53 module is in good working condition.
When the 3500/53 module communicates with other modules in the 3500 rack, the TX/XR LED lights up.
If the 3500/53 module is in bypass mode, the bypass LED lights up.
When 3500/53 is in test mode, the test mode LED lights up.
Alarm LED: indicates that the associated relay has an alarm.
Sensor regulation
Automatic threshold: for any input above 0.0167 Hz (1 rotation per event). The minimum trigger signal amplitude is 1 V (peak-to-peak value).
Manual threshold: The value ranges from + 9.9Vdc to -23.9Vdc. The minimum trigger signal amplitude is 500 millivolt peak peak value.
Hysteresis: 0.2 to 2.5 volts, user configurable.
Alarm setting value:
The speed can be changed to “below and above alert level” (set value). You can also set a hazard (overspeed) setting for speed. All alarm set points are configured using software. Alarms are customizable and can usually be adjusted between 0% and 100% of the full scale speed range.

Frequency response speed Input:
The 3500 overspeed protection module has a maximum full scale range of 99,999 rpm, a maximum input frequency of 20 kHz, and can support 1 to 255 events per revolution. The minimum input frequency for the proximity sensor is 0.0167 Hz (1 event/conversion to 1 rpm), while the minimum input frequency for the passive magnetic pickup is 3.3 Hz.
