The 5X00419G02 is an Ethernet link controller module used in Emerson Ovation systems
Provides high-speed, reliable connectivity for connecting Ethernet networks and Ovation control systems
Supports full-duplex Ethernet communication at speeds up to 100 Mbps
It also has link monitoring, fault detection, automatic retransmission, flow control and diagnosis functions

Basic function and function
Data encapsulation and decapsulation: The Ethernet link controller module encapsulates packets from the network layer into frames suitable

for transmission over the physical link, and decapsulates the frames back into packets at the receiving end.
Media access control: Media access control protocols such as CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple access/collision detection)

are implemented to ensure that multiple devices can access the network in an orderly and conflict-free manner when sharing Ethernet media.
Sending and receiving of frames: Responsible for sending encapsulated frames to the physical layer for transmission,

and receiving frames from the physical layer for processing.
Error detection and correction: through CRC (cyclic redundancy check) and other ways to detect the error of the frame,

and if necessary, error correction or notify the upper protocol for processing.

Key technology and composition
MAC (Media Access Control) controller: The core component of the Ethernet link controller module,

responsible for the above data encapsulation, unencapsulation,

media access control and other functions.
PHY (Physical Layer Interface) chip: Connected to the MAC controller, it is responsible for converting MAC layer data into signals suitable for transmission over the physical link,

and receiving signals from the physical link into MAC layer identifiable data.
Buffer: Used to temporarily store data frames that are ready to be sent or have been received but have

not yet been processed by the upper layer protocol to alleviate the problem of mismatch between data sending and receiving rates.
