CI873A is an AC 800M communication interface that uses the EtherNet/IP protocol to connect to external Ethernet devices.

The TP867 baseboard has two RJ45 Ethernet connectors, but only the CH1 connector that supports 100Mbps is used.

The CI873 expansion unit contains the CEX-Bus logic, a communication unit, and a DC/DC converter that delivers the required voltage from a +24 V power supply via the CEX-Bus.

The CI873A module is only available for System 800xA 6.0.3.3, 6.1.1 and later versions. CI873A supports 6 redundant CI873A pairs of 5.1 FP4.
