The FP-TB-1 is a FieldPoint terminal dock with 36 channels designed to work with FieldPoint I/O modules, in addition to the dual-channel module. It provides convenient field wiring connections via screw terminals and can be clamped, locked and mounted on a panel or rail. The manufacturer of the FP-TB-1 is National Instruments, part number 777519-01.

The terminal base has the following features:
4 dedicated channel terminals and 32 numbered terminals defined by the I/O module.
Half of the dedicated channel terminals are V channels and the rest are C channels.
The maximum current of these terminals should be limited to less than 10 A, and if the current flow is less than 3 A, a single terminal can be used as the return path.
The FP-TB-1 operates at a maximum voltage of 250 V (channel to ground, Installation Category II).
There is a thermal gradient in FP-TB-1 due to a variety of reasons, such as convection of hot and cold air, thermocouple wires, and heat generated by adjacent modules.
The FP-TB-1 is wired using standard 16-26 AWG stripped copper wire with 7 mm insulation, usually copper wire, unless using sensing instruments such as thermocouples that require wire of different materials.
The FP-TB-1 weighs 7.4 ounces and measures 4.2 x 4.3 x 3.6 inches.
The recommended operating and storage temperature ranges are -40 to 70°C and -55 to 85°C, respectively, with a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%.
The design complies with the following electrical safety standards: EN 61010-1:1993/A2:1995, IEC 61010-1:1990/A2:1995, UL 3121:1998, and CAN/CSA c22.2 no. 1010.1:1992/A2:1997.

The FP-TB-1 FieldPoint terminal base is more susceptible to thermal gradient-based errors due to its lack of isothermal construction. Therefore, the base is only recommended for thermocouple measurements and these errors are acceptable or minimal precautions have been taken.
The most common source of FP-TB-1’s thermal gradient is heat generated by adjacent modules.
The wire connected to the screw terminal of the FP-TB-1 should use 16-26 AWG copper wire, stripped of the 0.28 inch insulation at the end
