In the event of a failure, the output that encounters a failure is shut down and the fault is reported to the system’s BIU or bus interface unit.
The system’s BIU also powers the GE field control IC670MDD441 I/O module.
However, the switches that power the loads in this system require an external DC power supply.
The green LED on the side of the IC670MDD441 I/O module lights up when the corresponding input is powered on.
The two-color LED on the side of the module lights up green when the corresponding output is powered on and orange when the corresponding output fails.
When the IC670MDD441 I/O module has logical and user power and it is turned off, the “PWR” LED lights up green and the module has no power. The module’s on-voltage range is 15 to 30 V DC, and its off state voltage range is 0 to 5 V DC.
