The GE Fanuc IC670MDL241 input module is a discrete input module in the field control product family. It is an AC voltage module with a rated voltage of 240 volts AC.
It is equipped with 16 input points divided into 2 isolated groups. Each of these isolated input groups requires power from an external AC power supply (1 external power supply per group, 2 external power supplies in total), while the module itself draws power from the bus interface unit or BIU on which it is installed. The input on the IC670MDL241 module will respond to a voltage level between 0 to 265 volts AC and 47 to 63 Hz.
Not only does the BIU power the entire module, it can also provide intelligent processing functions for the module, such as input configuration. The module can also receive intelligent processing from other locations in the system.
The GE Fanuc Field Control IC670MDL241 input module operates in capacitor and resistor systems and provides input filtering to the module by establishing the input threshold required to provide filtering.
The overall system also includes optical isolators, which provide isolation between the logical components in the module and the field inputs, and a data buffer for storing data from all 16 inputs in the module. The on response time and off response time ratings for each input are 20 milliseconds.
The IC670MDL241 input module is rated from 4 to 10 MA for on-going current and from 0 to 1.5 MA for on-off current.
