The IC698ETM001 is an Ethernet interface module manufactured by Emerson Automation (formerly GE Fanuc Automation). The module is part of the PACSystem RX7i Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) platform, enabling any rack with the IC698ETM001 module to connect to existing Ethernet work. To facilitate data exchange with other controllers residing in the same network, remote I/O implementations, communication with visualization systems, and third-party software and tools such as databases and enterprise software applications.

The IC698ETM001 features two (2) Ethernet ports, the robot is capable of transmitting data at 10/100 Mbps communication speeds, and has automatic sensing capabilities. These ports are designed for physical connection using RJ45 connectors and minimal CAT5 cable. These ports support Daisy chains, allowing linear, star, and ring topologies, and support unique or redundant IP addressing. In addition, it has one (1) serial communication port, which is a 9-pin sub-D connector that supports transfer speeds of 1200-115200 bps. This port is basically a Station Manager port that performs configuration to the module.

The IC698ETM001 supports a variety of communication protocols, such as TCP/IP communication services using Service Request Transport Protocol (SRTP), SRTP clients, MODBUS TCP servers, and MODBUS TCP clients. In addition, the module also supports time synchronization with SNTP time servers on Ethernet networks.

The IC698ETM001 is equipped with a variety of LED indicators that provide an overview of the current status of the module. These leds are MODULE OK, LAN ONLINE, STATUS, 100, LINK P1 and 100, LINK P2. The module is equipped with a dedicated microprocessor that enables the module to perform processing power at a speed of 200 MHz.

The IC698ETM001 module is equipped with different leds to indicate different events. It comes with MODULE OK, LAN ONLINE, STATUS, 100 LINK P1 and 100 LINK P2 leds. It can only hold 1 IP address at a time.

The IC698ETM001 module is equipped with two 10 Base T/100 Base Tx connectors, requiring an RJ 45 connector and an 8-pin female connector for establishing a connection to the bus. The Ethernet module allows the Daisy chain of Ethernet nodes. This module has site management and diagnostic tools that are helpful to operators. The IC698ETM001 module handles redundant IP addressing, communication with the remote control, and time synchronization via the SNTP server. The module can be used to connect directly to a network hub without the need for an external transceiver. It can easily store application processes in its flash memory and can be easily upgraded using the CPU serial port. The IC698ETM001 module meets the electrical and environmental standards required for global use.
