Hardware tips and specifications
Before examining the various hardware components that are critical to the device’s function as a gate pulse amplifier, it is important to consider the actual functionality of the product itself. The EGPA board is created as an interface between the control of the EX2100 series driver assembly and its power bridge.
The IS200EGPAG1BEC board collects various gating commands from a compatible ESEL board to generate gate trigger pulses attributed to a total of six SCRS or SCRS.
The IS200EGPAG1BE exciter gate pulse amplifier has additional functions in its interface for bridge airflow monitoring, temperature monitoring and current conduction feedback.
While many EX2100 excitation control System series exciters use a series of Klixon switches for temperature control and alarm generation, newer EX2100 exciter models may incorporate RTDS.
A total of two switches are connected to the EGPA board and may need to retrofit their existing Bridges.
Both switches are classified as thermal, with one opening at an alarm level temperature rating of 170 degrees Fahrenheit and the other opening at a trip level of 190 degrees Fahrenheit.
When either of the above two switches is turned on, an overtemperature alert will be generated, which may interrupt the canonical EX2100 driver component activity. If you want to activate two switches in the EGPA board assembly, the IS200EGPAG1BEC PCB will generate faults and fault trips.
