Install

These options provide installation flexibility based on specific setup requirements.
Mounting components: The SRTD is securely attached with the insulator to the specified sheet metal bracket or component to ensure stability during operation. Mounting on DIN rails or in cabinets provides stable and orderly placement within the system.
Wiring setup: Eight RTDS (resistance temperature detectors) are connected directly to European box terminals. The terminal is equipped with 36 terminals, available in two types, and is used as the central connection point of the RTD.
18 AWG wires, especially shielded twisted-pair triplets, are commonly used for wiring purposes. These wires help minimize interference and ensure accurate temperature readings.
I/O cable shielding terminal: The shielding terminal of the I/O cable uses the external mounting bracket provided by GE or the customer. The bracket facilitates safe installation of shielding terminals and enhances the integrity of shielding connections.
Unused terminals: As part of a standard configuration or mounting setup, terminals 25 to 34 on European box terminals are intentionally left unconnected.
Chassis ground connection: E1 and E2 are used as mounting holes specifically for chassis ground screw connection (SCOM). Proper grounding of the SRTD board through these mounting holes ensures electrical safety and effective grounding practices within the system.

Controls
RTD Drive current: The terminal board provides 10 mA DC multiplexed (intermittent) drive current for each RTD (resistance temperature detector). The current can be configured to be grounded or ungrounded.
Distance and cable resistance limitations: It allows connections of up to eight RTDS up to 300 meters (984 ft) from the turbine control cabinet. The system can accommodate a maximum bidirectional cable resistance of 15 ohms.
Noise suppression and signal integrity: Onboard noise suppression is integrated into the terminal board, similar to noise suppression in TRTD (temperature RTD) systems. These characteristics ensure signal stability and minimize interference during temperature measurement.
RTD input and signal processing: RTD input and subsequent signal processing mechanisms are shown in the figure. This diagram illustrates how RTD signals are received and processed within the system.
Signal sampling and processing for the PRTD Pack: In A normal mode scan, the pack’s A/D (analog-to-digital) converter samples each RTD signal and excitation current at a rate of four times per second. In a fast mode scan, the sampling rate is increased to 25 times per second, utilizing a time sampling interval that corresponds to the frequency of the power system.
Linearization and RTD type selection: The processor in the PRTD package performs a linearization process to select 15 different RTD types. This linearization ensures accurate temperature measurement and calibration to meet the characteristics of various RTD types.
