Function description
The IS200STAIH2A is a simplex analog input terminal board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe family used in distributed control systems. The simplex Analog Input (STAI) terminal board is a small analog input terminal board that connects to a battery pack and supports 10 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs. Two wire, three wire, four wire or transmitters with external power supply can be connected to 10 analog inputs. Two 0-20 mA 0-20 mA jumpers are available for configurable analog outputs, one of which supports 0-200 mA currents. The board is only available in simplex form. The terminals are high-density European terminals. The board is identified to the battery pack by an onboard ID chip for system diagnosis.
STAI operation:
All transmitters can be connected to a 24 V DC power supply on the terminal board (sensor). When using a jumper, you can select a current or voltage input. One of the two analog output circuits can be adjusted from 4-20 mA or 0-200 mA via a jumper. Due to the single cable connection, this patch board cannot be used for TMR applications such as TBAI.
Stay’s diagnosis:
The output current is represented by the voltage drop at both ends of the series resistors on the circuit board. If either of the two outputs becomes abnormal, the I/O processor generates a diagnostic alert (fault). The I/O controller queries each ID device that must be supplied by each cable connector on the patch board.
The terminal board serial number, board type, revision number, and location of JR, JS, and JT connectors are encoded on a read-only chip called an ID device. When the I/O controller reads this chip and encounters a mismatch, a hardware incompatibility fault occurs.
STAI configuration:
Jumpers are used to configure the terminal board. Refer to the installation diagram to determine where to place these jumpers. The available jumpers are as follows:
Current input or voltage input can be selected using jumper J1A to J8A.
The return whether to link to public or remain open is determined by jumper J1B through J8B.
Use jumper J9A and J10A to select the input current between 1 mA and 20 mA.
The return whether to connect to public or remain open is determined by jumper J9B and J10B.
Output 1 is adjusted to 20 mA or 200 mA by jumper J0.
