The IS200VPROH2B is GE’s PCB component for Mark VI systems. MKVI is a gas turbine and steam turbine management system released by GE as part of the Speedtronic family, which was developed by GE for four decades, beginning with the MKI.

The IS200VPROH2B acts as an emergency turbine protection committee. Together with the TPRO and TREG boards, the IS200VPROH2B is a standalone overspeed protection system for the Mark VI system. This consists of three VPRO boards (triple redundant) which control the trip solenoid via TREG boards in a module separate from the turbine control system. The IS200VPROH2B features 9 thermocouple inputs for exhaust overtemperature protection, as well as 3 analog current inputs and backup sync check protection.

The IS200VPROH2B has two backplane connectors. The board also has two long, narrow female plugs located near and parallel to the front panel. The rear edge has a vertical pin (male) strip connector. The front panel also includes many connectors, such as a single DIN connector and multiple multi-pin D-shell cable connectors. There is also a female power plug on the front panel, as well as several LED indicators. The board has an onboard power supply. The power supply generates 5 V DC and 28 V DC and is powered by the PDM of the cabinet. Connectors and indicators located on the front panel are labeled.

VPRO Board: This board is located in the protection module and is the core component responsible for providing emergency trip functionality. It operates in triple redundancy for enhanced reliability and has an Ethernet connection for IONet communication with the control module.
Terminal boards (TPRO and TREG) : The TPRO and TREG terminal boards facilitate the connection between the circuit board and the trip solenoid valve. The TPRO serves as the interface between the VPRO and the TREG, while the TREG provides the positive end of the 125 V DC power supply to the solenoid. TRPG is another terminal board that provides a negative electrode.

System function
Emergency trip function: mainly responsible for supervising the emergency trip function. It can control up to three trip solenids connected between the TREG and TRPG terminal boards.
Trip solenoid control: The TREG provides the positive side of the 125 V DC power supply to the trip solenoid, while the TRPG provides the negative side. Both the TREG and TRPG are equipped with the capability of independent trip turbines if necessary.
Relay control: Control a total of 12 relays on the TREG board, 9 of which are divided into three groups of three. These relays are used to vote control the input to the trip solenoid valves, ensuring redundancy and reliability in critical emergency situations
