IS220PAICH1B Function Description
The kit can handle up to 10 analog inputs, the first eight of which can be configured for 5 V or 10 V inputs or 0-20 mA current loop inputs. The last two inputs can be set to 1 mA or 0-20 mA current inputs.
The current loop input load terminal resistors are located on the terminal board, and the PAIC detects the voltage at both ends of these resistors. The PAICH1 also has two 0-20 mA current loop outputs. PAICH2 includes additional hardware to support 0-200 mA current on the first output.

The IS220PAICH1B is a high-performance input/output (I/O) module for Mark VI gas turbine control systems. It is a multifunctional module that can be used to connect a variety of sensors and actuators, including temperature sensors, pressure sensors, flow sensors, valves and contactors. The IS220PAICH1B is a rugged module designed for use in harsh environments.

The kit is powered by a three-pin power input and two RJ45 Ethernet connectors. Output is done via a DC-37 pin connector connected directly to the relevant patch board connector. LED indicators provide visual diagnosis.

Processor characteristics
The processor board is connected to a capture board dedicated to the I/O package or module function. When an input power supply is applied, the soft start circuit increases the available voltage on the processor board. The local power supply is turned on one by one, and the processor reset is disabled.
After completing the self-check routine, the processor loads application code from flash that is specific to the type of I/O package or module. The application code reads the board ID information to ensure that the application code, acquisition board, and terminal board are correctly matched.
Automatic reconfiguration
The automatic reconfiguration feature allows operators to replace I/O packets without having to manually reconfigure each packet or module.
When the controller detects that an I/O package with a different configuration is started and enables automatic reconfiguration, the reconfiguration file is automatically downloaded from the controller to the I/O package. Boot load, base load, firmware, and parameters will all be reconfigured.
Unless it already has the latest version, each I/O packet is updated to the current configuration that matches the configuration used by the controller.
Analog input hardware
For all 10 input channels, the PAIC accepts the input voltage signal from the terminal board. The analog input section (DAC) consists of an analog multiplexer module, multiple gain and scaling options, and a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter.
Depending on the input configuration, the input can be configured as a 5 V or 10 V scale signal. When configured as a current input, the terminal board includes a 250 load resistor that produces a 5 V signal at 20 mA.
Analog output hardware
The PAIC has two 0-20 mA analog outputs and can operate in simplex or TMR mode with 18 V compliance. A 14-bit DAC sends a current reference to the PAIC’s current regulator loop, which detects the current in the PAIC package and the terminal board.
Each analog output circuit also includes a normally open mechanical relay to enable or disable the output operation. In TMR systems, relays are used to eliminate the faulty output so that the remaining two PAIC can produce the correct output without interference from the faulty circuit.
When the suicide relay is deactivated, the output is turned on through the relay, short-circuiting the analog output of the PAIC with the customer load of the terminal board.
