Function description:
The IS220PDIAH1A is a discrete contact input terminal board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe family used in GE distributed turbine control systems. The PDIA I/O package provides an electrical interface between one or two I/O Ethernet networks and a separate input terminal board. The kit includes a processor board common to all Mark VIe distributed I/O suites and a capture board specific to discrete input functions. The kit accepts up to 24 contact inputs and feedback signals specific to the terminal board, and the PDIA accepts three different voltage levels (TBCIH1, H2, and H3 type terminal boards). Can be connected to an isolated discrete input board with voltage detection (with TICI board). The system input of the battery pack is via a double RJ45 Ethernet connector and a three-pin power supply. The discrete signal input is via a DC-37 pin connector, which is connected directly to the associated patch board connector. Visual diagnostics are provided via indicator LED and serial communication for local diagnostics via infrared port.

Compatibility:
The PDIAH1A is compatible with five types of discrete contact input terminal boards, including TBCI, TICI and STCI boards, but is not compatible with DIN rail mounted DTCI boards. The control mode refers to the number of I/O packets used in the signal path:
Simplex uses one I/O packet and one or two network connections.
Dual uses two I/O packets and one or two network connections.
TMR uses three I/O packets, each with a network connection.

The IS220PDIAH1A model, labeled as a discrete I/O package, is also used in the Mark VI series with the YDIA discrete input module. PDIA models can use several different related terminal boards, including:

Installation:
Securely install the required patch panels.
Plug one PDIA I/O package for simplex or three PDIA I/O packages for TMR directly into the terminal board connector.
The battery pack is mechanically secured using threaded studs near the Ethernet port. The stud slides into a mounting bracket specific to the terminal plate type.
The bracket should be positioned so that the DC37 connector between the battery pack and the terminal board does not exert a straight Angle.
During the service life of the product, only one adjustment can be made.
Plug in one or two Ethernet cables, depending on your system configuration.
The package will run on either port. If a dual connection is used, it is standard practice to connect ENET1 to the network associated with the R controller.
Power the battery pack through a connector that plugs into the side of the battery pack.
Because the I/O package has an inherent soft start function that controls the electrical surge on the power application, there is no need to plug in this connector without disconnecting the power from the cable.
