The IS230PCAAH1B is a core analog I/O module manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe family used in distributed control systems.
The bulk of the analog signal I/O required to run a gas turbine is provided by the Core Analog (PCAA) module and the associated core analog (TCAS and TCAT) terminal boards.
Thermocouples, 4-20 mA current loops, seismic, linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) excitation and input, pulse rate, and servo coil output are all provided by PCAA and TCAT.
In simplex, duplex and TMR systems, PCAA is suitable. For one, two, or three linked PCAA modules, a single TCAT terminal board fan signal input. In addition to the terminals on the PCAA and TCAT, the nearby JGPA board has a shielded ground and 24 V field power connector.

Installation:
Install the PCA A module firmly.
Connect the P4 connector on the PCAA to the JGPA power connection.
Connect the two 68-pin cables to connectors P1 and P2 on the optional TCAT terminal board coupled to the PCAA module. The network connection pairs the connectors on the TCAT. PS1 and PS2 connect to PCAAs that belong to the S controller network, PT1 and PT2 connect to PCAAs that belong to the T controller network, and PR1 and PR2 connect to PCAAs that belong to the R controller network.
To keep the cable sufficiently grounded, simply tighten the mounting screws for the PCAA and TCAT with your fingers. If the wires are not secured, the PCAA may not be able to read the electronic ID on the TCAT, which may degrade other communication quality.
Connect one or two Ethernet cables depending on the setup of the unit. When connected using a single IONet, the module works on either port. If dual connections are used, the R controller’s network should be connected to ENET1.
However, the PCAA is not concerned with how to establish an Ethernet connection, but rather negotiate the right functionality through either port. If there is a TMR PCAA module, the network connection should match the TCAT connection. For example, cables connected to TCAT PR1 and PR2 connectors should be present on PCAA modules with RIONet connections.
Verify that the JGPA shielding wire terminal is grounded. JGPA shielded ground connections are usually electrically connected to board mounted sheet metal parts. The grounding path of the terminal is then provided by the installation.
In some cases, it may be necessary to specify a shield ground separate from the mounting sheet metal. JGPA is installed in these applications, utilizing hardware that separates the circuit board from the sheet metal plate. In these applications, a suitable ground wire must be provided between one or more JGPA terminals and the necessary shielded ground potential.
Use the P5 connector to power on the module and check the power and Ethernet status indicators.
Controls:
The PCAA module is a physical component made up of four different circuit boards. Because it is challenging to narrow the fault to a specific board, this module is considered the most non-replaceable component. A single board cannot be replaced with a module.
Each Mark VIe Ethernet I/O packet or module shares a processor board. It contains the following:
