The IS230SNCIH6A is a digital input module developed by General Electric. It is part of the Mark VIe series. An I/O module consists of three basic components: a patch board, a wiring terminal, and an I/O packet. The terminal board is connected to the cabinet in two basic configurations: S and T. Each I/O point of the S-board has a set of screws that allow the signal to be conditioned and digitized using a single I/O package. The board uses single board, double board, or triple board for single board, double board, and dedicated triple module redundancy (TMR) inputs. During runtime, each I/O packet can send an identification message to the host controller when prompted. This message contains basic information about the I/O board, including its hardware catalog number, hardware version, board barcode serial number, firmware catalog number, and firmware version. This identification data helps to accurately identify and manage I/O packets within the system.
The I/O package’s processor board and data acquisition board are designed to operate in a temperature range of -30°C to 65°C. These components are equipped with a free-convection cooling mechanism that ensures reliable performance even under harsh environmental conditions.
The temperature sensor is integrated in the I/O package to monitor temperature levels. These sensors are accurate in the 2°C range and provide reliable temperature data. The temperature reading of each I/O packet is stored in the system’s database and can be used to trigger an alarm or alarm if the temperature threshold is exceeded, enabling proactive maintenance and preventing potential problems.
