Function description:

The IS230TBAIH2C is an analog I/O terminal board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VI family used in GE Speedtronic gas turbine control systems. Supports 10 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs for analog input/Output (TBAI) terminal boards. Two wire, three wire, four wire or transmitters with external power supply can be connected to 10 analog inputs. The current of the analog output is set to 0-20 mA or 0-200 mA. To prevent surges and high-frequency noise, noise suppression circuits are integrated into the input and output. To connect the I/O processor, TBAI has three DC-37 pin connectors built into the device. Supports simplex applications (JR1) using a single connector. All three connectors are capable of supporting TMR applications.

In TMR applications, input signals from the R, S, and T controls are fanned into three connections. The TMR output combines the currents of three connected output drivers and calculates the combined currents using a measuring shunt. TBAI then provides the total current signal to the I/O processor for adjustment to the specified set value.

MARK VI Systems: TBAI supports simplex and TMR applications in Mark* VI systems and works with VAIC processors. VAIC can be linked to one or two TBAIs. The TBAI is connected to three VAIC boards in the TMR system.

Installation:

Connect the two I/O terminals mounted on the patch board directly to the input and output lines. Each module has 24 terminals that can hold wires up to #12 AWG and is secured with two screws. There is a shielded terminal connection point next to each terminal. TBAI can accommodate the following types of analog I/O:
Analog input, two-wire transmitter
Analog input, three-wire transmitter
Analog input, four-wire transmitter
Analog input, externally powered transmitter
Analog input, voltage ±5 V, ±10 V DC
Analog output, 0-20 mA
Analog output, 0-200 mA

Controls:
All sensors have a 24 V DC power supply from TBAI. Jumpers (J#A and J#B) can be used to configure the input as a current or voltage input. One of the two analog output circuits can be configured for 4-20 mA or 0-200 mA, while the other can be programmed for either. Each 24 V DC power output is capable of providing 21 mA of current continuously and prevents short circuits in operation. The transmitter and transmitter can be powered individually or by a 24 V DC power supply in the control system. The current output type is selected by the jumper JO. The diagnostics keep a close eye on each output, and if the CPU command fails to fix the fault, a suicide relay in the I/O controller disconnects the relevant output.

Settings:
The terminal board is configured with jumpers. Refer to the installation diagram for the location of these jumpers. Jumper options are as follows:
Current input or voltage input can be selected using jumper J1A to J8A.
The return whether to link to public or remain open is determined by jumper J1B through J8B.
Use jumper J9A and J10A to select the input current between 1 mA and 20 mA.
The return whether to connect to public or remain open is determined by jumper J9B and J10B.
Output 1 is adjusted to 20 mA or 200 mA by jumper J0.
