The MVME-147A is a dual-height vmedule that is best used in 32-bit VMEbus systems with P1 and P2 backplanes. The module is highly functional with large onboard shared RAM, serial port and Centronics printer port. The module provides a SCSI bus controller with DMA, floating point coprocessor, tick timer, watchdog timer and clock/calendar with spare batteries, 2KB of static RAM with spare batteries, 4 ROM slots, and A32/D32 VMEbus interface with system controller functions.

The MVME-147A can be used as part of the VMEbus system with other
Memory module, CPU module, graphics module, analog I/O module, etc.

The MVME-147A uses MOTOROLA’s PowerPC processor, specifically PowerPC 603e.
