The ABB REF615E is a feeder protection and control device manufactured by ABB for power distribution systems.

The unit is part of the Relion 615 family and is designed for the protection, control, measurement and monitoring of utility

and industrial power distribution systems for radiant, ring and mesh networks, including possible distributed power sources.

The REF615 is available in a variety of predefined standard configurations to suit the most common feeder protection

and control applications. It provides directional and non-directional overcurrent and ground fault protection, as well as thermal

overload protection. The REF615 also features advanced inter-station communication facilities for precise control of various

sensors and actuators and can be used in ring and mesh distribution networks as well as radiant networks.

In addition, the REF615 supports multiple communication protocols, including the IEC 61850 standard, which enables

communication and interoperability between substation automation equipment. The device also features a self-restoring

Ethernet solution to improve communication availability and reliability.

The REF615 also has a variety of monitoring functions, such as circuit breaker status monitoring, tripping loop monitoring,

CT loop monitoring, etc., to ensure the continuity and reliability of the operation of the device and related equipment
