VMIVME-3120 Promoting green cooperation in clean technologies

VMIVME-3120Emerson has always been committed to environmental sustainability, not only from its own start, to carry out green actions to promote environmental sustainability within the company; Drive green solutions that leverage Emerson technology, solutions and industry expertise to help customers on their sustainable path; We are also working globally on green cooperation – enhancing collaboration and innovation with global value chain partners.

Peter Zornio, chief technology officer of Emerson, attended the Energy Transition 2023 conference hosted by Reuters in Houston, USA. Hosted by the Director of OCED at the U.S. Department of Energy and featuring leaders from ENEL, Bank of America and HASI, the conference focused on clean energy technologies in sustainable development strategies.

Among the topics Peter shared with the delegates were: How can we accelerate the devVMIVME-3120elopment and commercialization of low carbon technologies? What role can partnerships between government and business play in promoting innovative technologies? How do we ensure that emerging technologies are developed in an equitable and accessible way?

How can investment challenges be overcome to enable companies to develop and commercialize low-carbon energy technologies
Understand what needs to be done in terms of new clean technologies and how to identify safe and sustainable projects in the early stages of development
Explore current challenges, including the green premium, rising costs and cost competitiveness against traditional fossil fuels
Peter said Emerson provides automation technology for all emerging energy solutions and has established long-term relationships with traditional energy suppliers. Emerson supports everyone who pursues new carbon-free energy sources. Many sustainability-related businesses, such as hydrogen producers, battery manufacturers, and new processes for plastic recycling, are capital-intensive and require financing and preferential policies to move beyond the proof-of-concept stage. The government’s approach to funding decarbonisation related innovation through the development oVMIVME-3120f preferential policies, such as tax credits, has been significant in the past for the development of the solar, wind and renewable energy industries.

Peter believes that the grid needs to be improved and standardised to implement more intelligence at the edge of the grid. Everything from electric vehicle charging points to transformers on the distribution network needs to be standardized, which can improve reliability and save costs.
